True Story: There was a time when I was so depressed - the only thing that got me out of bed wasn’t motivation, inspiration, or even sunlight—it was Diet Coke. That sweet, bubbly siren calling from the fridge and you know that I am American because I like lots of ice with it. Ice Ice Baby. I know it may not be healthy but in moderation - a nice break from my bipolar lows. Some people have morning mantras—I had Diet Coke -American Champagne. Forget coffee. My alarm clock was the sound of a can cracking open. Therapy? Helpful. Friends? Supportive. But Diet Coke? She was there for me at my lowest... fizzy, faithful, and fiercely caffeinated.
Diet Coke: Not just a drink. A lifeline with bubbles.

Coca-Cola Saved My Family—And Maybe a Few Careers Too - Warren Buffett once said he owes his billions to Coca-Cola. Why? Because even in the hardest times—like the Great Depression—people still scraped together their last few coins for an ice-cold Coke. It's more than just a soft drink. Coca-Cola owns dozens of household beverage brands, from bottled water to sports drinks, and Buffett insists: Don’t invest in “Joe Brand.” Buy the real thing—Coca-Cola.
My grandfather, Grandpo McIntyre, understood that. During World War II, he invested in $5 Coca-Cola war bonds. That decision turned into millions—and ultimately saved our family. I truly owe my life to that company.
As a music producer, I was fortunate to be trained by the legendary Eddie Kramer—the genius behind The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin. He once told me,
“Evan, I always made sure to include a Coca-Cola in the shot when I photographed them. That was the secret sauce. That bottle? It made them look like stars.”
Even in politics, Coca-Cola found its way into history. Remember Bill Clinton, cornered by scandal during the Whitewater and Monica Lewinsky investigations? During the interview with Ken Starr, what was he holding in his hand? A Diet Coke. Was it just a drink—or the most strategic product placement ever?Maybe it saved more than just his image.
On the National Geographic Karawonge Safari in Africa my team was always stalking up on wine and beer for our expedition. I told them my champagne is Diet Coke and jokingly called them alcoholics. On one stop Alex (my best friend on the tour) decided to join me with a Coke instead of wine. We now call ourselves “The Coke Brothers.”

“Evan, every time I photographed them, I made sure there was a Coca-Cola in the shot. That was the secret sauce. That bottle? It made them look like stars—before the world even knew they were.”
