Not a Coincidence: You Were Meant to Hear This Today. You Are Guided, Watched Over, and Loved—Now Go Live Fully

When the sun shines and the birds sing, that is God’s way of smiling down on you. Every mistake you’ve made, every wrong turn—it wasn’t a life sentence. It was a lesson. I sin a hundred times a day, and yet I know this: that’s why Jesus died for us. He took on our sins so we could live free, so we could try again. It’s human to fall short. I pray every day that I become a better man—and you can always begin again too. There is no deadline for a fresh start. God wants you to be happy. Jesus forgives you—and He wants you to forgive yourself, to live with joy, and to know that you are loved.
You will stumble again—that’s part of being human. But every stumble is a lesson, not a prison. Breathe. Relax. God says, “Love your neighbor.” That means: don’t judge. Not the neighbor next door, not the one across the border. This 4th of July, say, “God bless America”—but don’t stop there. Remember, Jesus wasn’t American. Pray, “God bless America, and bless the world.” Love your neighbors in Mexico, Palestine, Israel, Europe, Africa—everywhere. Don’t point fingers. Jesus wouldn’t. Buddha wouldn’t. Dr. King wouldn’t. Mother Teresa wouldn’t. You don’t always have to pick a side. Sometimes your greatest calling is to be the peacemaker—to help stop the fight. That’s what Jesus did. That’s what He calls us to do.
When a woman was about to be stoned for her sins, Jesus said, “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.” And slowly, one by one, the crowd dropped their stones and walked away. None of us are without sin. So don’t waste your energy condemning others—whether they’re MAGA, LGBTQ, liberal, conservative. Make friends, not enemies. This world has enough danger and sorrow. What it needs is more kindness, more allies, more love.
Jesus touched lepers. He healed the sick. He welcomed everyone—no matter their race, religion, or story. He never put people down. That’s our example. Just love. It’s that simple. If someone fights with you? Turn the other cheek. Let them cool down. We all have our moments. And if all else fails, make them laugh—say, “Oh no! I left something in the oven!” and walk away. Fighting over politics? Let it go. The ones who disagree aren’t asking for your advice. Preach love where it can take root. Build common ground.
You become what you think about most. So fill your heart with love. Picture angels, and God will smile on you. Think like Jesus—He didn’t obsess over evil. He wondered how to help. That’s what I try to do as a DJ: spread joy, lift spirits, remind people they’re not alone.
My mom told me I was conceived in Mexico, and that God told her I’d be like John in the Bible—not better than anyone else, not a prophet—but someone who’d help shine a light on God’s word in troubled times. I didn’t want to be a preacher, but maybe, in my way, I am. I’m DJ Evan. And I believe God brought you to read this for a reason: to remind you that you are deeply loved, protected, and never alone.
This summer, this 4th of July, God’s message is simple: Above all, have fun. Jesus died so you wouldn’t be chained to fear or regret. You’re forgiven. So stop worrying about your sins—and stop worrying about anyone else’s. That’s not your job. God is the judge. You just take care of your own soul. Love people. Help where you can. That’s what matters.
And if you’re struggling today—if you’re feeling lost or broken—remember: a new friend, a new opportunity, or a new kind of love might be waiting for you just around the corner. Sometimes it’s the smallest kindness—a smile, a hello—that saves a life. I know. It saved mine.
This 4th of July, be grateful for your freedom. Thank a veteran. Pray for the world. And above all: relax, smile, and know good things are coming. You are loved. You are enough. You are going to be okay.
Shine on, you beautiful soul. Shine on, you crazy diamond. The world needs your light.
