911 - SOS for Veterans - Homeless veterans—those who once risked everything to defend our freedom—now sleep on cold streets in a national travesty that should shame every one of us.
Please forward this post to a Veteran you love or your local news station: “Help Is on the Way: A Love Letter to Our Forgotten Heroes,” by DJ Evan Michael McIntyre – DJ Evan from Heaven 777
Every single day, I spin music in Boston Common—beats, lights, joy—but amid the celebration, I often meet men and women who quietly carry the weight of war on their backs. Many are homeless. Many are veterans. And too many are forgotten. One day, a man approached my DJ booth. He was a veteran. He had PTSD. He was missing a limb. And he was starving. His eyes looked like they hadn’t seen kindness in years. He whispered to me, “Evan, I don’t want to live anymore.”My heart broke open.
I told him, “Brother, I’ve been there. I’ve faced nights of the soul. I’ve been homeless. I’ve stood on the edge. But I’m not a veteran. I didn’t serve—I should have. You fought for me. You fought for all of us. You are the reason I’m free to stand here and play music in peace.”I gave him all the tips I’d made that day. It wasn’t much, but it was everything I had. He thanked me over and over. And I wept. I looked him in the eye and said, “No, thank you. Thank you for giving your body, your sanity, your soul for a country that too often forgets its warriors.”
Folks, this is a national shame. Our government is failing our veterans. The very people who defended us with blood and bone are sleeping on sidewalks, starving in silence. My grandfather fought in both World War I and World War II. He risked his life so you wouldn’t be speaking German right now—so we could live in a world of freedom and diversity, not Hitler’s nightmare. And what did he get? Like so many others: neglect. Abandonment. Disrespect.
Veterans should live like kings. Instead, they’re sleeping under bridges. Instead, we scroll past them like they’re invisible. Instead, we leave them behind. But we don’t have to. We can change this. We must change this. Here’s what you can do right now: Visit a VA hospital. Just 15 minutes of your time can bring light to someone lost in the shadows. When you see a veteran, offer a fist bump, a thank you, or a hug (always ask first—trauma is real). I give them hugs and hold on just a moment longer to let them know: You are seen. You are loved.
Donate—even $5—to groups like the Wounded Warrior Project or Fisher House Foundation. I give monthly, even though I’m in debt. It’s the only charity I give to. Because freedom isn’t free, and the price was paid in full by them. Volunteer. Listen. Be present. Let them tell their stories. They need to be heard. To every veteran reading this: You are not forgotten. To every civilian: You are spoiled. It’s time to give back. I am DJ Evan McIntyre—DJ Evan from Heaven 777—and I promise you, my sets begin with “Wind of Change” by the Scorpions, because Desert Storm vets know that song. I’ve seen them cry tears of healing when it plays. Because music heals, but love does more. Semper Fi, my brothers and sisters. Help is coming. Hold on. Never give up. In the words of Winston Churchill: “Never give up —never, never, never.” Help is around the corner. My grandmother used to say, "Hang on! Hang on!"
I especially salute the Marines and Navy SEALs—men forged in fire, protectors of freedom. You are more than heroes. You are holy. Like Jesus, I have failed you in my inaction. But tomorrow, I vow to try harder. America, it’s time to return the love. Let’s rise for our veterans. Let’s weep for them. Let’s wake up. They carried us. Now we carry them.#McIntyreStrong #PerArdua #Victory
God bless you, and may God bless our veterans. Veterans - God loves you, Jesus, and guardian angels here on earth and in heaven have your back and are looking out for you. You will always be okay. You are a good person. Everything happens for a reason. You were meant to read this. You are going to heaven.
You can support veterans in two powerful ways: By volunteering your time or donating to trusted organizations. Whether it’s helping at a local VA hospital, mentoring a veteran transitioning to civilian life, or giving to groups like the Wounded Warrior Project or Fisher House Foundation, your support makes a real difference. Let’s show our veterans that we’ve got their backs—because they had ours. Read more at ClubEvan.com and listen to the interview with World War II Veteran and American Hero, Boyd Blanton, below. On Club Evan Radio I had the pleasure of interviewing World War 2 Veteran War Hero Boyd Blanton. You can hear the interview on ClubEvan.com/radio or here:
There's a famous quote: “If we don’t learn history, we are doomed to repeat it.” In this interview, we honor the late veteran Boyd Blanton, who fought on the front lines in France and Germany during World War II, helping to defeat Hitler. In this captivating conversation, Boyd shares his experiences, detailing the cunning precision of German intelligence and their bombings targeting American troops. He recounts hiding in a barn during one of the coldest winters in 70 years, where a German woman saved him from starvation with bread and milk. He also describes the joyous moment when American forces met the Russians to unite against their common enemy, the Nazis.
World War II veterans are concerned that today’s youth aren't learning enough history. Share this remarkable conversation to continue honoring our veterans and to preserve the peace and freedom they fought for. Consider volunteering at your local veterans' hospital or donating to the Wounded Warrior Project at WoundedWarriorProject.org
Thank you for listening. I’m DJ Evan McIntyre, and this interview is powered by Spotify and ClubEvan.com. Thank you, veterans, for your service.

My Grandfather (Grandpo McIntyre) also was a war hero.

Honoring the Memory of Grandpo McIntyre: A Heart Surgeon and War Hero Resting in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington Virginia.
Memorial Day 2024: Today, we pay tribute to the remarkable life of Grandpo McIntyre, a true American hero. Serving as a heart surgeon and achieving the rank of Colonel in World War II, Grandpo embodied courage and sacrifice on the battlefield.
During World War I, Grandpo's bravery knew no bounds. His duty involved running from the trenches on the French battlefields amidst German attacks to retrieve fallen American soldiers, his comrades, and his friends. With reverence, he did that required job - ensured their dog tags were collected and delivered to their grieving families—a solemn task that spoke volumes of his character and compassion.
Despite his unwavering dedication, Grandpo was unfortunately denied the proper benefits and title he rightfully deserved. This injustice left him disillusioned with the military, a sentiment he carried throughout the rest of his life. Sadly shortly after WWII, he died of a heart attack. That's what happens when you fight 2 world wars. However, amidst the challenges, Grandpo's resilience and foresight shone brightly. Investing in $5 bonds like Coca-Cola and General Motors during the war, he and Grandma McIntyre navigated through the Great Depression and two world wars with unwavering strength and determination.
As I reflect on his legacy, let us not forget the sacrifices made by Grandpo and countless others like my veteran friends here on Facebook - Thank you! Their struggles and triumphs serve as a poignant reminder of the resilience and spirit of the American people. In today's world, where democracy is questioned and adversities abound, let us honor Grandpo's memory by upholding the values he held dear and striving for a better tomorrow.
Rest peacefully, Grandpo McIntyre. Your legacy lives on in our hearts forever. You finally are getting some respect. #peace #liberty #democracy #freedom #veterans
